Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982)
Forms the first part of the Constitution Act, 1982.
Freedoms - of religion, of thought, of expression,
of the press,
of peaceful assembly,
to move around and live within Canada, and leave Canada
The Rights - to participate in political activities,
to a democratic government,
to life, liberty and security
to equality (including language rights)
Canada Health Act:
is Canada's federal legislation for publicly funded health care insurance.
Department of Health Act:
Powers, duties, functions, and jurisdiction of the Minister of Health.
Public Health Agency of Canada Act:
Powers, duties, functions, and jurisdiction of The Public Health Agency & Chief Public Health Officer & Office of the Presidents. Main function = to assist the Minister.
Safety, security methods to be used against the risks of human pathogens.
Quarantine Act:
Measures to prevent the introduction and spread of disease,
and also gives the Minister of Health authorization to:
1. appoint officers for, and establish isolation facilities;
2. authorize measures for international cargo and travel.
